Assisting Back Home
Afghanistan is facing a humanitarian crisis that has worsened since August 2021, with over 90% of the population living in poverty. The country has experienced a severe economic collapse after the Taliban took over, with the economy contracting by 20.7% in 2021 and 6.2% in 2022. More than half of Afghans rely on humanitarian aid, and 40% of the population is facing acute food insecurity, which is the fourth highest in the world.
Welcome Home Collective supports families of formerly hosted childern who have maintained relationships with their host parents. These relationships span over a decade. Most families live in hiding as a result of these relationships. As their needs arise, we send money to provide food and necessities.

Currently, $150 feeds a family of 10 for a month. A doctor’s visit costs about $200 per person. Due to the lack of delivery service, we cannot accept items to send to Afghanistan.
